Off the beaten path, not very many people visit it. Of course the state doesn't really take care of the property like it should. A little overgrown not a lot of amenities but there there are bathrooms, a pavilion, picnic tables, and areas for grilling if you want to make a meal.
The only reason this gets three stars is that this park is not being properly maintained or managed to draw people out there for the historical significance of this place. This is the site of Abraham Lincoln's first home in Illinois where he came from Kentucky to Indiana to Illinois with his father and stepmother. His parents moved eastward to south of Charleston, Il after a terrible winter here. But, Abe moved on toward New Salem. Still it's a beautiful site and it has Lincoln history.
Kind of a disappointment for true Lincoln fans.
